The original plan was a seven story structure with two levels of underground parking to includes retail and rental apartments from 5th Street to 7th Street. Now the project has been divided into two phases, Phase I (600-700 Alton) and Phase II (500 Alton). There is a possibility that the final product will be completely different than anything we have been shown so far.
After the original plan was approved, the developer proposed instead a 50 story tower surrounded by greenspace (see bottom picture). The tower was denied by the city.

Blast from the past – Remember the Vitri Condominium? This was an approved project for the 500 block and some units were even sold during pre-construction but this project went bust in 2004.
